Synopsis
OSAWOPA, which translates to 'DO NOT BE AFRAID,' is a fearless coming-of-age feature documentary retracing actor & filmmaker Pacharo Mzembe’s solo run across Australia in the summer of 2012 to raise awareness for disadvantaged youth. Inexperienced and ill-equipped, he inadvertently placed himself—along with his older brother and close friends—in the gravest challenge of his young life. Twelve years later, the documentary revisits that transformative journey, exploring our duty of care to the next generation and our relationship with fear. It also delves into lingering questions: Have these relationships healed? Has forgiveness been found? And was it all worth it?
